There are very few moments in my life I can recall that involve receiving an intensely meaningful object. Incidentally, a couple of them have been in the past 2 years.
This year at Dallas SusCon (2012), G and Joe snuck a surprise on me; they gave me the rigging plate seen above. G designed it, Joe cut it, and they both told me it wouldn't be made in time for the conference in Texas.
Well played.
I can not remember ever having laid my eyes or hands upon a more meaningful gift/item/object. I can not express in words the amount of love and gratitude I have for what those two have done for me, both in the physical world and on an emotional level. On many levels, the same goes for those that have supported this project and gotten it to where we have attained the momentum we need to keep going strong. Anchors Aweigh is my brainchild, but it is nothing without the crew that keeps it afloat.
There's no turning back now!
Fun fact: Joe Amato helped come up with the name for this suspension crew in the Summer of 2011.
